Soy sauce chicken

I got this recipe from @ericknaoki_ (tiktok), I added one ingredient, the garlic to fry the sauce.

It turns out a nice surprise, the chicken is moist, flavored a little sweet from the honey mixed with the personality of the soy sauce.

When cooking here at cooking classes, teens and kids had fun and loved to prepare, also of course, enjoyed to eat!

Ingredients:

  • 4 chicken thighs
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • ¼ chilli pepper (if you want spicy )
  • ⅓ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • ¼ cup water
  • ½  teaspoon ginger shredded
  • corn starch (to bread the chicken)

to garnish:

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp green onions

Procedure:

  1. season the chicken with salt, black pepper and paprika and reserve
  2. bread the chicken  with a thin layer of cornstarch

Prepare the sauce:

  1.  in a bowl add soy sauce, honey, ginger and water. Whisk well and reserve
  1. fry the chicken over medium heat for 6 min each side. Use  olive oil
  2. remove the chicken and reserve (the cornstarch didn’t allow it to brown, but don’t worry, it will be cooked)
  3. In the same pan, add 1 tbsp olive oil and the garlic, fry for 1 min and then add the sauce.
  4.  bring to simmer for 4 minutes
  5. add the fried chicken and let it fry for more 5 min – flip it over
  6. turn off the heat and serve it with sesame seeds and green onions on the top
