I got this recipe from : https://preppykitchen.com/fish-tacos/. With super little modifications, it has the perfect seasoning for the fish, it’s simple, tasty and fun to prepare 🙂
Fish:
- 4 white fish filets: tilapia, cod, halibut
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 lime juice
- 1 tsp cumin
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Sour cream sauce:
- ½ cup sour cream
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 lime juice
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- **chilli pepper
Tomato sauce:
- 1 tomato diced
- 1 avocado thinly sliced
- ¼ red onion diced (soak in water and ice for some minutes to reduce the pungency)
- ½ cup cilantro leaves chopped
- 1 lime juice
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tbsp salt
5 (6-inch) corn tortillas
3 cups purple cabbage shredded (3 to 4 cups)
Procedures:
Season the fish:
- whisk all ingredients: olive oil,
lime juice, cumin, salt, and pepper.
2. spread the sauce all over the fish
3.Reserve it.
Sour cream sauce
4. whisk together the sour cream, mayo, lime juice and garlic powder
Fry the fish:
5. heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
6. add 1 tablespoon olive oil
7. add the fish and cook for 2 to 3 minutes and flip (temperature 145 Fº)
Tomato sauce :
8. add tomatoes, onion, cilantro, olive oil, lime juice, salt and mix all together.
Cabbage:
9. in a large bowl place the red cabbage and toss with 3 tablespoons of the fish taco sauce.
Tortillas:
10.heat a skillet in the high heat and warm the tortillas cooking both sides
Assembly:
11. flake the fish into large chunks and place in the center of each tortilla. Top with the cabbage, tomato sauce, avocado and sour cream sauce.
